Student Experience

I met e-Sports at Maltepe University. I had the chance to get to know this new sports branch closely with the opportunities offered by our university in the field of digital e-sports. With the diligent effort of our E-Sports Club in which I serve as the Head of FIFA Unit, and the support of our University, our ranked the third in the Universities E- Sports FIFA League.  

Moreover, for an academic term, I continued my education in Bucharest, where I went with Erasmus. Here I had the opportunity to learn about different cultures and learn a new language.

When I look back, I can say that the university years were the years I discovered myself and shaped my future. Thanks to Maltepe University… 

My name is Harika Cook. I am a German - American citizen, born and raised in Bavaria, which is located in the south of Germany. After attending 10th grade at the Gymnasium, which a secondary high school focused on preparing students to enter University, I moved to the United States of America to Saint Louis, IL. I graduated from a private high school in Saint Louis and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with two minor Degrees in Theater & Dance and German from a State University called Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville (SIUE).

I decided to come overseas to Istanbul to study Medicine because I was very inspired about Maltepe University School of Medicine by my youngest sister Banu Yavuz, who is currently a 3rd year Medical Student in the English Medicine Program at Maltepe University. I know this amazing world city Istanbul since my childhood, as my my father, who is a medical doctor in Germany, was born and raised in Istanbul.

The location of Maltepe University inspired me through its enormous field and large buildings surrounded by a wonderful nature within a forest on top of a hill in Istanbul.

Since Istanbul is a world city and very international, I am very happy to live and going to graduate from Maltepe University Medical Faculty from the English Medical Program. I am very thankful to all of my Medical Faculty Professors, who are very professional and highly experienced in their field, Dean and President, who are giving the best medical education possible for us to become a successful doctor internationally. I am also very thankful to the International Office for welcoming us very kindly, being helpful and very supportive.

I would recommend to any international student to come here and to study at our amazing Maltepe University in Istanbul, which gives all opportunities and international education to become a professional and international graduate.

My name is Rawan El Kayal. I am from Kuwait. I am a second year student at the Faculty of Medicine at Maltepe University. After learning Turkish, I had the chance to communicate with various people here. I met new people. I had the chance to introduce my culture and learn Turkish culture. As a medical student, I often spend time in the library of the university. The library offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere to help us study. I love my professors. They provide us with a high-quality education. Our laboratories are very beneficial in terms of providing on-site learning opportunity. I am very happy to be part of this community.
