The results of the Turkey's University Satisfaction Survey TUMA 2020 conducted by University Research Laboratory (UniAR) were announced. Maltepe University ranks 20th among all universities and 11th among foundation universities in the “General Satisfaction Ranking.”
In the survey of which was attended by 39,386 students studying at 192 universities in Turkey, Maltepe University stood out with the high grades it received among all educational institutions. Maltepe University was among the leading universities in Turkey in categories such as general satisfaction, management of the institution, opportunity to learn, wealth of resources, personal development, career support and campus. President of Maltepe University Prof. Dr. Şahin Karasar was also awarded to bronze award for his outstanding performance in the management.
The report cards of the universities revealed with the results of the Turkey's University Satisfaction Survey TUMA 2020 conducted by the University Research Laboratory (UniAR). UniAR collected data from March to April, reaching 39,386 students from 192 universities, 125 of which are state and 67 foundations in Turkey. With TUMA 2020, in which student participation is ensured at varying rates according to the size of the universities, students scored their universities this time. The study that aims to contribute to the development of the Turkish Higher Education System by collecting feedback from undergraduate university students, aspires to enrich student experience and guide universities to become university-centered institutions by understanding the experience and satisfaction of university students.
According to the results of the survey, 11 of 192 universities in Turkey scored “A+” and 15 “A” level. According to the data, 26 universities in Turkey “meet the expectations of their students at a “high level.” “It is understood that these 26 universities are very prominent in presenting a happy university culture where students and parents are less concerned about the future and the quality of life and education is met above expectations,” reported UniAR in its assessment of the results.

According to the results of TUMA 2020, Maltepe University ranked 20th among 197 higher educations institutions in the "General Satisfaction Ranking." Maltepe University ranked 21st in the survey conducted in 2019, this year it has risen one step higher and ranked 11th among all foundation universities in the same category.
In ranking of foundation universities, Maltepe University ranked 9th in the “Satisfaction with the Management and Operation of the Institution,” 18th in the “Satisfaction of the Learning Experience Ranking," 15th in the “Academic Support and Interest Ranking,” and 17th in the “Academic Support and Interest Ranking,” 12th in the “Richness of Learning Opportunities and Resources” and 15th in the “Personal Development and Career Support Satisfaction” ranking.
Maltepe University, which draws attention with the number of categories at “A” level, ranked 14th among all educational institutions in the “Satisfaction with the Management and Functioning of the Institution.” Maltepe University, which ranked 27th in the "Learning Opportunities and Wealth of Resources Category" and 30th in the "Personal Development and Career Support Category" ranks 34th in the "Satisfaction of Campus and Life Category," which is the other categories in which it has a score at the "A" level and achieved 33rd place in the "Academic Support and Interest Ranking."
AWARD TO PROF. ŞAHİN KARASAR
In Turkey's University Satisfaction Survey, "Rector Performance Evaluation Scale" consisting of 10 articles was applied to students in order to evaluate the President of the University where they studied. According to student data on the rectors of a total of 192 universities, including state and foundation, presidents who achieved the highest scores were determined. The President of Maltepe University, Prof. Dr. Şahin Karasar was awarded the Bronze Award for his outstanding performance in university administration.
